Londres y Carnaval de Notting Hill / London and Notthing Hill Carnival

A finales de agosto del 2011 tuve la oportunidad de visitar Londres, fue el primer lugar que visitaba de Europa.  Aunque no estuve por mucho tiempo, me pareció un lugar bastante interesante con tantos lugares para conocer y visitar.  Definitivamente tengo que ir a más museos la próxima vez que esté ahí, ya que solo tuve oportunidad de ir al Tate Museum, donde vi una exposición de Diane Arbus; que para los que conozcan sobre está fotógrafa, solo puedo decir "increíble!".  

Además, coincidí en que mi visita fue para la celebración del carnaval en Notting Hill.  Dicho carnaval se lleva a cabo cada "Bank holiday" de agosto desde 1966.  Es considerado uno de los festivales más grandes de Europa.  Me pareció algo bastante interesante y alegre.

By the end of august of 2011 I had the opportunity to visit London, it was the first place I had the chance to visit from Europe.  Even though my visit was short, I think its a really interesting place with so many places to visit and know.  Definitively I have to go to more museums the next time I'm there, I only had the chance to visit the Tate Museum, where I saw a Diane Arbus expo; for those how have seen the work of this amazing photographer, I can just say "incredible!".

Also, my visit was during the celebration of the Notting Hill's Carnival.  This carnival has been   celebrated each August Bank Holiday since 1966.  Is considered as one of the biggest festivals in Europe.  I think it was really interesting and cheerful.

III Carrera JCI, Esfuérzate por ser mejor / III JCI Race, strive to be the best

El domingo 9 de octubre se llevo a cabo la III Carrera de JCI, Esfuérzate por ser mejor, de 10kms.  Realizada con Alianza Joven.  Dicha actividad se realizo en el Hipódromo del Norte, zona 2 de la ciudad de Guatemala.

Las categorías fueron las siguientes:

-Juvenil (Menores de 18 años)

-Libre (de 18 a 40 años)

-Veteranos (de 41 años en adelante)

Se contó con la participación de varias personas de todas las edades.  Y con el apoyo de varios patrocinadores.  Con todo ello, fue una actividad realmente gratificante tanto para ver y fotografiar, como me imagino que fue muy satisfactoria para las personas que pudieron participar en este evento.

The III Race of JCI, esfuérzate por ser mejor (strive to be the best), took place this past october 9th (sunday), with 10K as challenge.  This race was also made with the support of "Alianza Joven".  The activity took place in the Hipódromo del Norte, zone 2 of Guatemala city.

The race categories were:

-Youth (18 and under)

-Free (from 18 to 40 years old)

-Veterans (above 41)

Several people from all ages participated in this event.  And there was also support from various sponsors.  Within all, it was a really gratifying activity with so much to see and photograph, and I also imagine that was really satisfying for the people that could participate in this event.
