Barcelona en Septiembre y fin de año 2011/2012 / Barcelona during September and new year 2011/2012

He tenido la oportunidad de visitar está interesante ciudad, que a donde sea que volteamos la cabeza, hay algo interesante que observar...Barcelona!

Para todos los gustos hay algo que podamos encontrar en esta ciudad: fútbol, moda, historia, arte, un lugar para conocer a varia gente local o quizá de otros países que también están de visita, o han decidido volver a Barcelona en su nuevo hogar u hogar transitorio.  Esto y mucho más es lo que se puede apreciar en está increíble ciudad.  Es en esta entrada que les muestro algunas fotos de mi viaje durante Septiembre y finales de Diciembre (2011) y principios de Enero 2012.

Ambas visitas sumamente distintas en cuanto al clima.  Septiembre: calor, calor, calor!!!  Y fin de año, para mi sorpresa un clima realmente templado, ni frío ni calor, un clima casi perfecto (para mi gusto) :-)

Además de Barcelona, están los sitios de Sitges y Montserrat, ambos poblados se encuentran próximos a la ciudad, los cuales son bastante bellos y vale la pena que si están por Barcelona aprovechen y se den una vuelta por ahí.

Haber que opinan de mis fotos y sobre todo de estos lugares.

I had the opportunity to visit an interesting city, where each time we turn around our head there is something to see...Barcelona!

There is something for every taste that we can find in this city: football (or soccer), fashion, history, art, a place to meet local people or maybe from other countries that are traveling around, or had decided to make Barcelona in their new home or short term home.  This and so much more is what you can appreciate of this incredible city.  In this entry I will show you some of the photos I took during my trip in September and by the end of December (2011) and the beginning of January 2012.

Both visits were very different in terms of the weather.  September: hot, hot, hot!!! and by the end of the year, well it was a surprise for me that it was mild, nor hot nor cold, a weather almost perfect (at least for me) :-)

Also, you will see photos from Sitges and Montserrat, both towns are near the city of Barcelona, which are really beautiful and its worth that you visit them if you have time and are around Barcelona.

A day in Central London / Un día en el centro de Londres

Qué me paso??? Hace rato que no escribo nada :-s

Aunque eso no significa que no he visitado lugares interesantes.  Al contrario, he tenido la oportunidad de ver varios lugares increíbles, y es por ello que próximamente los estaré publicando en mi blog :-)

Por ahora les quería compartir algunas fotografías que tome hace poco de la parte financiera de Londres.  Tantos edificios con elementos arquitectónicos interesantes, es una parte de la ciudad que recomiendo para ir a tomar fotos, y para saber más a cerca de la historia de Londres.

What happen? Its been so long since I haven't written anything :-s

Although that doesn't mean that I haven't visited any interesting places.  On the contrary, I had the opportunity to see several amazing places, and its because of that, that very soon I'll be blogging about it :-)

For now I want to share with you some photos that I took some days ago of the financial part of London.  There are a lot of buildings with interesting architectonic elements, its a part of the city that I truly recommend if you want to take photos, and also to know more about the history of London.

The Tower of London.

In Potters Fields Park looking at several buildings like the Shard at the left -the tall one-, and Greater London Authority, the one at the right.  / En el parque Potters Fields donde se pueden ver varios edificios como el Shard (que en español significa "fragmento", en este caso quizá fragmento de vidrio por su forma) que se encuentra del lado izquierdo -el edificio alto-, y el Greater London Authority (en español, la máxima autoridad de Londres) que se encuentra de lado derecho.
 

Tower Bridge in the East end of London, over the Thames River.  The construction of it started on 1886 and opened to the public in 1894. Its an important symbol of London.  If you want to know more about it, you can visit the bridge's website: Tower Bridge Exhibition /
El Tower Bridge o Puente de las Torres que se encuentra en el extremo este de Londres, sobre el río Támesis.  Su construcción inicio en 1886 y se abrió al público en 1894.  Es un símbolo importante de Londres.  Si desean saber más a cerca de este puente, pueden visitar la página web: Exhibición del Puente de las Torres.

A small sculpture in the Bank of England.  The Bank of England or Governor and Company of the Bank of England was created in 1694, its the second oldest central bank of the world, after the Bank of Sveriges Riskbank in Sweden. / Una pequeña escultura en el Banco de Inglaterra.  El Banco de Inglaterra o Gobernador y Compañía del Banco de Inglaterra fue creado en 1694, y es el segundo banco mundial más antiguo del mundo, después del Banco Sveriges de Suecia.

Luces Campero 10 Dec./Dic. 2011

Una noche que muchos guatemaltecos esperan cada año.  Una noche de paz, de armonía, de estar junto a tu familia y a tus seres queridos.  Yo vi las Luces Campero (10 de diciembre, 2011) desde mi casa con mi abuelita :-)

A night that many guatemalans wait for each year.  A night of peace, harmony, and being with your family and your loved ones.  I watched the Luces Campero (Campero Lights) (december 10th, 2011) from my house with my grandmother :-)

*For those who don't know what Luces Campero is, its a tradition made in Guatemala for several years now, which is done once a year, as part of the Christmas season.  Its part of the international known restaurant "Pollo Campero", a guatemalan fast food restaurant.

Londres y Carnaval de Notting Hill / London and Notthing Hill Carnival

A finales de agosto del 2011 tuve la oportunidad de visitar Londres, fue el primer lugar que visitaba de Europa.  Aunque no estuve por mucho tiempo, me pareció un lugar bastante interesante con tantos lugares para conocer y visitar.  Definitivamente tengo que ir a más museos la próxima vez que esté ahí, ya que solo tuve oportunidad de ir al Tate Museum, donde vi una exposición de Diane Arbus; que para los que conozcan sobre está fotógrafa, solo puedo decir "increíble!".  

Además, coincidí en que mi visita fue para la celebración del carnaval en Notting Hill.  Dicho carnaval se lleva a cabo cada "Bank holiday" de agosto desde 1966.  Es considerado uno de los festivales más grandes de Europa.  Me pareció algo bastante interesante y alegre.

By the end of august of 2011 I had the opportunity to visit London, it was the first place I had the chance to visit from Europe.  Even though my visit was short, I think its a really interesting place with so many places to visit and know.  Definitively I have to go to more museums the next time I'm there, I only had the chance to visit the Tate Museum, where I saw a Diane Arbus expo; for those how have seen the work of this amazing photographer, I can just say "incredible!".

Also, my visit was during the celebration of the Notting Hill's Carnival.  This carnival has been   celebrated each August Bank Holiday since 1966.  Is considered as one of the biggest festivals in Europe.  I think it was really interesting and cheerful.
